The First Annual Hoops For Hunger was a huge success! Thanks to all of the great volunteers, exciting players, generous donors and sponsors, and spectators for giving it your all. Without you, this tournament could not have been possible. We were able to raise money and increase awareness for Meals For The Elderly, which was our main purpose.
ABOUT MEALS FOR THE ELDERLY
Meals For The Elderly is a private, charitable nonprofit organization devoted to serving the homebound elderly with one hot, nutritious meal each weekday, while ensuring their individual well-being through personal contact. From its beginning in 1974, Meals For The Elderly has provided meals for the homebound elderly without being a government or United Way agency. As an independent organization, it maintains an operating cost of less than $3.00 per meal. Through gifts, grants, donations, and fundraisers, over 600 meals per day are delivered to community members who might otherwise go hungry. They deliver smiles, one meal at a time.
